The previous week was a lovely mixture of transcribing interviews, filming the baking of Karelian pies and attending the celebration of a 100 years since the arrival of the Suosaari family to Australia.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Anne, Sonia and Linda; whose fathers Sandy and Joe arrived with their family 100 years ago on the 12th June 1914.
The celebration took place at the Finnish memorial park in Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast and was organised by Anne Margoc, you can watch a video of Anne sharing a story about her ancestry via the following link: http://vimeo.com/59832572
