ENCOUNTERS IN PUBLIC SPACES
Every Tuesday afternoon throughout March 2013 artists Amal Laala and Sari T.M. Kivinen were present at Stoa Cultural Centre's lobby in East Helsinki. Amal and Sari explored interactions and methods of conversation within this site. A site which is public and transient as well as being a regular meeting place for a diverse range of people from all walks of life. Amal and Sari encountered the public through verbal and non-verbal performative exercises. The languages used in encounters included English, Finnish, Arabic and (pretend) morse code.
